Ronald Cathcart, MD $250

Ronald Cathcart, MD was one of the original HIV/AIDS physicians serving South Florida at Broward County Health Department.  He came to Unconditional Love, Inc. in January 2006 and has served as Chief Medical Officer to this date.   Warren Wiersbe described ministry as “divine resources meeting human needs through loving channels to the glory of God”.  For more than three decades those resources have passed through Dr. Cathcart’s hands to meet the needs of thousands, and he remains a key contributor to this ministry.

Timothy Poirier, MD $500

Timothy Poirier, MD was the go-to MD in Brevard County during the early years of HIV/AIDS.  He served as Medical Director of Unconditional Love, Inc. and the supervising physician for Joyce Goode until his death in December 2003.  Dr. Poirier liked to think himself a renaissance man, but certainly his primary path was as a healer.  His reputation and long-running relationships in the Brevard County medical community was directly responsible for the large network of specialists willing to treat HIV/AIDS patients.  “The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.”   Leonardo da Vinci

Bill Goode $1,000

Bill Goode co-founded Unconditional Love, Inc. in 1991 and served in various administrative roles until he retired in 2023.   He participated in planning groups on local, state and national venues, and managed state and federal funding grants.  His military service taught him discipline; his saloon keeper years taught him the value of others; and his sister, Joyce taught him “It’s not about you, Bill!”  He continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.  His favorite quote is from Samuel Clemens “People want to go to heaven for the climate, and to hell for the company.”

Joyce Goode, ARNP $1,500

Joyce Goode, ARNP founded Unconditional Love, Inc. in 1991 and served as Clinic Nurse Practitioner and President until her death in August 2014.  Her mission to demonstrate God’s Unconditional Love for all his children is contained in the corporate name:  Unconditional Love, Inc.  She gave the last two decades of her life to that mission impacting the lives of her patients, her peers and family.   “And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, here am I; send me.”  Isiah 6:8

Ryan White $2,000

Ryan White was an American teenager from Kokomo, Indiana, who became a national poster child for HIV/AIDS in the United States after his school barred him from attending classes following a diagnosis of AIDS.  As a hemophiliac, Ryan became infected with HIV from a contaminated factor VIII blood treatment and was given six months to live. Doctors said he posed no risk to other students, but AIDS was poorly understood by the general public at the time. When Ryan tried to return to school, irate parents and teachers in Howard County rallied against his attendance due to unwarranted concerns of the disease spreading. A lengthy administrative appeal process ensued, and news of the conflict turned Ryan into a popular celebrity and advocate for AIDS research and public education.
